# Billing and plans
> Compare the Free, Essential, Pro and Enterprise plans, subscribe, switch plan or billing cycle, cancel, and track your monthly usage.
Manage your subscription under **Settings → Plan & Billing**. The page shows your **Current plan**, the other plans you can switch to, and **Current Usage** against your plan's limits.
Only the workspace **Owner** can subscribe, change or cancel the plan. Payments are handled by **Paddle**, our reseller and merchant of record. Paddle calculates and collects VAT and sales tax, issues invoices, and processes cards.

Paid prices are **introductory (early-bird)** prices and **exclude tax**. Paddle adds VAT, GST or sales tax at checkout based on your location. Business buyers can enter a VAT or tax number in Paddle's checkout. The prices and limits shown in **Plan & Billing** and on the pricing page are always the current ones.
### Pro and Enterprise features
These features are only on **Pro** and **Enterprise**:
* AMP email
* Real-time collaboration, template versions and block snippets
* Publishing templates to the marketplace
* Template export to other email platforms
* Ad audience sync, ad campaigns and lead capture
* A custom link domain ([custom endpoint](/guides/sending-and-workspace/workspace-settings#custom-endpoint-url))
**Essential** and above remove the InstantCampaign footer from exported templates. Connecting your own [email sending provider](/guides/sending-and-workspace/email-providers) is available on every plan.
## Early-bird price guarantee
If you subscribe at an introductory price, that price is **guaranteed for your first 12 months**. Plan & Billing shows "Early-bird price guaranteed until" with the date. Switching plans or billing cycles keeps your original guarantee date. After 12 months, the plan renews at the regular price in effect then, and we email you at least **30 days** before any change.
## Subscribe
In **Settings → Plan & Billing**, choose **Monthly** or **Annual** (annual shows how much you save), then **Choose Essential** or **Choose Pro**. You can also pick a plan during sign-up.
A Paddle checkout opens over the page. Enter your payment details and, for a business, your VAT or tax number.
After payment, the page says "Payment received — activating your plan…". Activation usually takes a few seconds. If it takes longer, you'll see a note to refresh shortly.
For **Enterprise**, click **Contact sales**. Enterprise agreements are priced individually and managed by our team.
## Change, cancel or update payment

You can't change plans while a cancellation is scheduled (undo it first) or while a payment is past due. Enterprise workspaces change their agreement through sales.
### A failed payment
If a renewal payment fails, a **Your last payment failed** banner appears across the app. Paddle retries the charge, and you **keep your plan** in the meantime. Click **Update payment method** to fix the card.
## Usage
**Current Usage** on the same page shows this month's usage against your plan: emails sent (campaigns and automations), campaigns, templates, AI image and text generations, test emails, HTML exports, active automations and team members. Monthly counters reset on the 1st of each month (UTC). The page shows the exact reset date.
* The monthly email allowance is shared by campaigns **and** automations. Double opt-in confirmations and test emails don't count toward it. Test emails have their own allowance.
* When you upgrade mid-month, automation emails that were held back because you'd reached the allowance resume.
## Troubleshooting
Activation can take a minute. Refresh **Plan & Billing**. If it still shows the old plan after a few minutes, contact support with your Paddle receipt.
Only the workspace Owner can change the plan. Other roles see "Only the team owner can change the plan."
Listed prices exclude tax. Paddle adds your local VAT, GST or sales tax at checkout, and your invoice shows the breakdown.
